Re: [MCD] Companions are horrible.
I like the no punctuation rants. It makes me read them like an old Microsoft text to speech voice with no concept of cadence.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - AEthermage's Touch
When i built my Brago, King Eternal deck back in 2014, AEthermage's touch|dis , Vanish into Memory|CSP and others neither would've been great includes nor would they have raised eyebrows necessarily, due to the fact that they weren't as far off, as they are from what you see at today's tables. Vani...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
This is kind of a garbage card in general, but your thoughts on Cryptic Trilobite made me wonder, have you ever thought about Gemstone Array ? If you went infinite with Trilobite it would let you filter all of that colorless mana into colored mana that you could use on anything you want, not just a...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
Man, I really have to give you credit. This deck is a blast to play, it surprises me every time I play it. Last night I managed to Mirrorweave Precursor Golem, then cast Fractured Identity on one followed by an Echo Storm, after a whole bunch of math I had like 55k Golems and I just couldn't stop l...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
I just need a card to turn cards in hand into mana Yeah, too bad Skirge Familiar is the wrong color (although it's been fantastic in Chainer). After some searching on Scryfall, it really does appear that MOM is the only other thing that can turn cards into mana that directly. It's fantastic in Oliv...

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
To give sort of a rollback update, I did sort of get chances to try out changes. Not really, I tried out slips of paper with names scribbled on them, cause the only new card I actually acquired so far is Whirlwind of Thought by random chance from a pack, and it's actually the only one I haven't real...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Decree of Pain
I play this in "give people creatures" the deck. It's pretty neato after Alliance of Arms.

Re: Zedruu the Greatest of All Time
A few questions for you; how useful do you find the lands that turn to creatures and what do you find their primary use is for you while playing this deck? Also do use Thespians Stage to target your own lands or opponents mostly? If your own, which ones mainly? The manlands are generally cute guild...

Re: [SCD] Reliquary Tower
Let me ask you this: in how many games have you observed a player benefitting from a "no maximum hand size" effect and actually reach a point where he managed to empty his hand? Many, but almost always it's me. If you play cards like Dream Halls or Mind Over Matter or Mindmoil , starting ...

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread
In other news, I don't remember if I've mentioned Animal Crossing yet. We bought it for the kid, and soon the wife and I started playing. Predictably, both of them have gradually lost interest in it, while I'm building pretty regularly. Only problem is that whomever creates the island is the one th...

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread
Here's the thing guys, we are still learning about this virus. We've only have five months to learn about it, and that's practically nothing in the grand scheme. We're still finding out how it affects patients with different comorbidities like diabetes. We're still discovering new symptoms, like on...

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread
After all, employers aren't going to hire if the demand doesn't justify it. In my current position, I can only personally speak to the architecture, engineering, construction, and surveying industries. The last few days have been wild, a bunch of places are hiring. I'm aware these aren't areas that...

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread
Thing is, we still need to be in that problem-solving mode. Just because you have fewer cases of the virus than you did at its peak does not mean it has gone away, and if people get careless then it will happily return. Thankfully some basic mechanisms demonstrated to slow the spread, e.g. mask wea...

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread
I don't see what's so complicated about recognizing that jobs, livelihoods, commerce, etc., are good and necessary things that we need to maintain while also affirming that we need to protect the physical health of vulnerable populations as much as humanly possible. It just feels like nuance in pub...

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread
Nothing about the situation has really changed since mid-March so it just feels like we're inviting the problems we were trying to avoid by distancing/isolating. I mean, businesses have changed practices to minimize contact, vulnerable populations have been identified, optimal treatments have been ...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Precursor Golem
And after I'd drawn about 20 cards over the previous 4 turns, pitched a bunch to Nahiri's Wrath to wipe opponents' scary stuff, still had 7-8 in hand and pitched those to Perplex to make sure Nahiri's Wrath went through (probably should have kept them, but Zedruu was getting me extra cards). Totall...

Why would anyone waste a counter on "draw 9, discard 3, and steal your tokens back"? Weird.lyonhaert wrote: ↑4 years agoI was piloting Zedruu the other day and donated the tokens so I'd draw and gain life. Vanish into Memory got countered, though.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Precursor Golem
a pile of vanilla 3/3s isn't that exciting. You'd be surprised. Especially since radiate type effects are one of those strategies at odds with itself, you need both things to radiate and things to radiate onto, and they compete for deck space. Precursor Golem being 3 creatures to kick of the shenan...

Re: Sisay: Legendary Creature Toolbox
Sisay is super powerful. Sisay plus Selvalla will make anything else you're doing feel sort of secondary. As someone who hasn't really enjoyed that play pattern, I'm un-Sisaying my legends deck, so thank you for wanting that aspect so that it's got a replacement thread here. Your deck lacks Cathedra...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Command Beacon
This got me thinking of other ways they could move commanders out of the command zone. They could make a card that's like Rhystic Command Zone, that when they play their commander, you can move yours to your hand unless they pay the equivalent of your commander tax.
