Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Saheeli's Artistry
I've have Saheeli's Artistry in my Sydri Vehicle deck, and have really liked it there. I like that the target for each can be the same if it is an artifact (or animated) creature. Nothing like making two copies of an animated Spine of Ish Sah ...Though the more common targets ( Cloud Key , Jhoira's ...

Re: Pet decks or commanders you keep retrying
I have a 60-card Griffin tribal deck that I originally built at the Visions pre-release when I pulled two Griffin Canyons and Zuberi (in those days, a small set pre-release was three packs of the first set and three of the new set - Sealed only, I don't think draft existed yet), and that is probably...

Re: Eye of Vecna
you also need to pay 2 colorless on each subsequent turn, which is what ruins it. That and the fact that it can only be activated once per turn. I had it in the maybe-board for my mono-brown, but went with Book of Rass instead. Even at 6 to cast (before cost reduction), the ability to use it when I...

Re: A Matter of Time Consumption
4/5 Player Solitaire is (or should be) very much a Rule 0 Discussion. When talking pre-game, I like to ask "how long is your average turn 5?" and "how long is your average player-killing/game-winning turn?" I feel these two questions, if answered honestly, give a decent idea of h...

Re: Vedalken Orrery - trap or treasure?
The latest deck it got dropped from was Emry, Lurker of the Loch untap. Unwinding Clock is in the list and I still didn't want it. Depending on how artifact/permanent heavy your build is, I've replaced this with Bottled Cloister in two of my artifact decks and been happier. And the game where the G...

Re: Vedalken Orrery - trap or treasure?
I would say that for most of the decks that run it, it is either a trap or "win more" inclusion. However, the deck themes that *need* this effect (such as Werewolf Tribal that need to consistently cast one and only one spell per turn) really have no substitute. As per your examples, most (...

Re: Storvald who Shrinks
Storvald, Frost Giant Jarl I haven't seen many decks utilizes Storvald's second trigger that shrinks creatures, I'm hoping to find more methods to utilize it. For example, using Tims like Prodigal Sorcerer . Blue has a good number of Tims who could snipe the new 1/1s. Even without Storvald on board...

Re: EDHREC Salt Scor (New)
I think Salt is an essential ingredient in cooking. Proper seasoning is one of the most fundamental aspects of the culinary arts. Too little salt, and the dish falls flat; too much salt and it becomes unpalatable. And I think all of the above applies to land destruction and other "Rule 0" ...

Re: [Discussion!] How do you know when you've gone "too far" with effect redundancy in deck building?
I, too, base my removal/sweeper selection on the deck concept/general/strategy. I also tend to prefer flexibility over cost, and theme over function. For example, one of my "ManLands" decks, Estrid , runs things like Planar Collapse , Planar Outburst , and Winds of Rath for sweepers, and t...

The third idea is a draw-go deck where I do almost everything on instant speed only. I'm going back and forth on whether I should go Simic with Awakening[card], [card]Seedborn Muse , Leyline of Anticipation and Vedalken Orrery ish cards (assemble your own Prophet of Kruphix package) or go with Nymr...

Might be worth looking into. And you have the thread posts to give you an idea of what DTG the file ...

Hmm. Can we shrink it down to be more appropriate for a signature image please? It's both long and tall, at least on mobile. It was ~750x150 px. I reduced the height to 100px (with proportional shortening of length, so final size is 526x100px) Dread_Statuary_Banner_100.jpg If that is still too larg...

Whoa, that's a sick remix. And that thread down memory lane, I never found that in my searching so thanks for that. Is there a way you can make the font lighter (or add a 1px stroke around it since they blend in too much to the background)? Version 2 - Lighten 10%, added text shadow. Dread_Statuary...

I do not believe it was from a quiz. I'm 90% positive it was a custom created image. But it had the same dimensions of the other images. The text was over the image, centered in place. the 1 was to the top left, I believe. I suppose a recreation would work, if I could remember the text description....

I like that non-EDH formats can get some fuel that doesn't have to compete with EDH audiences. I miss Tribal Legacy, Star, Rainbow Stairwell, Emperor, 5 Moons, etc. et. al. Unfortunately I play primarily (only? - last Paper game was 2017) on MTGO where WotC has decided we can't play those formats an...
