Re: [Official] State of Pioneer Thread (B&R 11/04/2019)
after looking through the ptq lists from today, I wouldn't be surprised if once upon a time got banned tomorrow

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 10/21/2019)
I kind of gave up on non shadow grixis decks when GDS started becoming really good in early 2017. I used to love Grixis control but it felt awful even before Shadow became good. Grixis is my #1 favorite color combination (with Esper being #2). While I would much rather be playing any other number o...

Re: Selesnya Adventures
to my fault, I haven't watched much standard coverage or streams since rotation but I think I'm convinced that GW might be the better adventure deck after watching Cuneo play it in the top 8 of the MC. Deck can just flood the board so well and threaten to overwhelm opponents

Re: [Official] State of Pioneer Thread (B&R 11/04/2019)
I think that's part of the appeal to pioneer for me right now, it seems like anything can be good because there's barely any banlist and the format was literally just created a few weeks ago. So with that every decklist dump we get seems super cool I think eventually I'd like to see the format stabi...

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 10/21/2019)
I agree that if you enjoy a favorite pet deck and can play it consistently, feelings of the format can be drastically improved. I have a buddy that started enjoying modern so much more when he found a deck he really enjoyed in merfolk and did really well with it. Definitely not t1 but he loves it G...

Re: [Official] State of Pioneer Thread (B&R 11/04/2019)
The State of Pioneer is that it's awesome :) I'm kinda cautiously watching and waiting on the banlists until I buy some more cards for decks I want to build or flesh out. Don't want to buy more cards I'll just have laying around. I need money! Yeah, I really don't want to invest too heavily in deck...

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 10/21/2019)
I for one think modern is awesome because of Tron lands and Karn :) But I recognise a lot of the gripes and criticism people have. I agree that if you enjoy a favorite pet deck and can play it consistently, feelings of the format can be drastically improved. I have a buddy that started enjoying mod...

Re: [official] How long have you been playing?
Been playing since 95 Ice age was my first starter deck, played on and off with my most competitive during the Lorwyn to rise of Eldrazi. Right now I play maybe once or twice a year, and mainly just modern. just out of curiosity, was there any reason behind the decline in play? I find it interestin...

Re: Standard Meta Discussion
I still haven't bought into GW adventures yet, but GB seems good. I might take gb to paper events I go to anytime soon, although I'm not sure if I'll be going to any soon. I feel like the deck is reasonable and it's the only one I really have reps with

Re: Selesnya Adventures
I've seen that many Sultai lists are running massacre girl now, possibly due to this deck. would you still play this deck to farm those decks?

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 08/26/2019)
I have a few borderless copies. It's nuts in GDS. Might not be terrible in TiTi Blue Moon either, but I'm kind of over losing to all the good decks with trash piles. I've seen it be insane in GDS but I can see i being okay in TiTi decks as well but I don't know that deck well enough to say for sure...

Re: [Deck] Grixis Death's Shadow
I can see drown in the loch being reasonable in the deck, I might try a 1-1 split of it and dismember or drop the 4th stubborn denial (which might be a mistake)

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 08/26/2019)
Yes, I agree that one. All of those were criminally overpowered. Saheeli Rai also, but only for the synergy of Felidar, the a-la Twin combo, that was a serious mistake and it's haunted Standard and now haunting Pioneer as well. I also think Royal Scions is a little bit underrated, it's pushed as we...

Re: Standard Meta Discussion
Small sample size caveats apply, but MTGGoldfish's analysis of MC V suggests that Selesnya Adventures may be good against Food decks. Fires decks and Control decks also seem like potentially effective competitors. I almost thought of buying into Selesnya adventures, it always seems like a good deck...

Re: UGx Food/Ramp/Midrange
Oko is like $100 Canadian right now so I might have to bite the bullet. I have to learn something before competitive events start in about a week. I have most of the rest of the deck so it's not too bad otherwise. A lot of the podcasts are saying this is probably the best shell

Re: Banlist Speculation
??? I've yet to see a good Rhino deck. The format is not at a place where Rhino is good right now, there's so much other broken stuff to be doing. And honestly, if the format comes to a place where Rhino is good after some bans, it's probably a healthy format. I don't see as many Abzan lists around...

I can see .3feri and oku being banned, I'm not sure how format warping three mana walkers could be though. Marvel might be a problem too

I think that krasis is still really good right now, I haven't decided what to start with post ban but this deck looks good
